TVOP Volunteer and Instructor, Hallie, is teaming up with Nick from Fishercat River Company for a hike and fly fishing adventure.

• We'll hike in 1.5 miles, fish for about an hour, and then hike back.

• Absolutely no fishing experience necessary.

• Boots, waders, and rods will be provided.

• We’ll do a fly casting lesson so people can learn how to fly cast.

Hike:
Gunpowder Falls State Park
Parkton, Maryland
3 miles / 350’ Elevation Gain
The hike will be an out and back with a little bit of scrambling and steep ups and downs and a lot of flat.

Piscataway Land

Bring: Mask, water, snack/lunch for afterwards, warm layers, raincoat, shoes comfortable for hiking 3 miles.  Long pants and tall socks are recommended for comfort under waders.

Meet: 8:30am Gunpowder Falls Trailhead (Multiple spots with overflow parking on side of road)

Additional Info:

Participants will need to obtain a non-tidal fishing license, which can be done online. (If the $7 license fee is a barrier, please email hello@ventureoutproject.com for scholarship info.)

We will need participants' shoe sizes ahead of time in order to provide appropriate boots and waders.
