Education - for every team
When it comes to diversifying the outdoors, leading trips alone isn’t enough. Our educational workshops and speaking engagements make up a significant branch of the work we do. From corporate brands to nonprofit youth camps, our team of trained facilitators bring Trans 101 inclusion trainings directly to you - virtually or in person.
Trans Inclusivity Workshops
The Venture Out Project offers educational programs and services to those looking to make their existing programming more inclusive and affirming of trans and gender diverse people.
Beyond Bathrooms: Creating a Trans-Affirmative Community
This interactive four-hour virtual workshop will bring groups from a foundational understanding of transgender issues and identity to assessing and creating plans for building more trans-affirming communities. We engage participants through small-group discussions and a collective whiteboard, which tailors a unique experience for each workshop. In each session, participants will...
Practice and deepen their knowledge of (trans) gender-related vocabulary.
Identify ways they can be supportive and inclusive of trans people in their community.
Expand their knowledge of pronouns and gendered language.
Work through scenarios related to their role and position in their community.
Open Enrollment Programs
Open enrollment programs are available to anyone interested in gaining skills and knowledge around transgender affirming spaces. No prior experience necessary, open to the public, small organizations, and more. Come learn with us!
Want to run a private group training?
We work with outdoor schools, companies, college outing clubs, camps, and youth-serving organizations to increase their capacities to serve the trans community. Looking for more information on private trainings, large groups, or other questions? Contact sj@ventureoutproject.com.
